As concerns over the proliferation of genetically engineered products in the marketplace continue to grow, consumers are seeking a higher level of information as well as transparency in the products they consume.
The NSF Non-GMO Product Verification Program is North America’s only third-party verification for non-GMO food and products.
Third-party verification is the highest quality system when it comes to product labeling and certifications because it ensures products have been comprehensively evaluated by an independent party for compliance with a standard developed by industry experts and stakeholders.
We are proud to say that Hart Dairy products are Non-GMO Certified by NSF True North.
According to NSF Non-GMO True North:
"NSF Non-GMO True North provides clear production, testing and evaluation criteria to organizations that grow, process or trade in feed, food and beverage, dietary supplements, cosmetic, personal care, cleaning and textile products."
They add that:
"Through their certification program, suppliers of food, inputs and products can demonstrate to the supply chain and consumers that they are mindful of GMO concerns and are taking active measures to reduce the presence of GMO ingredients to the lowest extent practical and possible."
As consumer purchasing preferences and supply chains begin to shirt Non-GMO commodity crops' prices and availability NSF Non-GMO has committed to continuous improvement with compliance rigor.
According to NSF Non-GMO True North, their:
"...basic principals are compatible with other certification programs: segregation, traceability, supplier approval, monitoring and testing. Additionally, to ensure consumer confidence and transparency, True North requires risk assessment-based unannounced audits, unannounced chain of custody sampling and independent testing. It also requires manufacturers to perform routine testing of raw materials for GMOs.
